TLDR: Our old website has to go.
It’s hard to say goodbye to old friends. But unfortunately, it’s time…
As part of the process to find a new credit card processor, we needed to “reface” our website to remove “concerning content.” We took the drastic step of starting from scratch because the existing site was so vast and difficult to trim.
In making the new site, we realized how slow and bloated our old site had become. We won’t dive into the technical stuff, but the heart/brains of the site (the database) was created in 2008. It’s actually over 15 years old! It’s a freaking teenager!
A multitude of updates, version changes, posts and most importantly, customer orders, have bloated the database to the point where it runs like an 80 year old. In that time, database technology has changed and newer ones are lean, mean, processing machines.
And so we must embrace our new site and work towards the day where we are again selling comics directly on it. Sadly, this does mean letting go of the old site.
If we were just selling printed comics, it wouldn’t be a big deal, however we realize that a lot of readers have built up a collection of beloved Digital Editions. While most readers have downloaded them and securely stashed them away under their mattress on their computers, USB drives or online folders, there are many who have not.
If you have not done this yet, then this message is for you: Please download your comics and stash them somewhere safe by the end of this year! We’ll put together a list of ways to do so at the end of this post.*

At the end of 2024, we will be disabling our old website and raising a glass to its memory. In the meantime, enjoy a brief trip down memory lane with this gallery of memories from our good ol’ original website.
All the best,
Patrick and Fraser
